Polish lang pack (incomplete)

MichaĹ‚ Kostrzewa has provided us with a lang pack for Polish; he decided he didn’t want to continue the work, so the package is incomplete and it’s not utf-8 (as it should)

If you’re willing to help, it’s on the wiki

I tried to post it under the forum, but the activation email, never reach me.

I regulary monitor the development of FlatPress, to find the moment while migrate my current SPHPBlog installation to FP.

Since the last months, FP has converted in a more reliable and safer alternative to SPHPBlog, and in terms of execution speed, it is more or less on pair with it.

Probably my personal blog, is an extreme example, being quite sure, it is the larger personal blog running on SPHPBlog, with currently more than 1000 posts, and more than 4000 comments.

Here are some points I found, that would probably improve FlatPress, and be useful for other users.

    FEATURES
    - Complete import from SPHPBlog. The current isoconvert.php does not correctly data:
    * Migrate categories.
    * Fix the issues with converting static pages.
    * Change relative images links locations, I mean replace “=images”/ with “=fp-content/images”.
    * Integrate import wizard in setup, if existing content from SPHPBlog is found in fp-content/content during setup, and so on, enabling DUMB_MODE.

    - Automatically publish posts with date in the future, when that date is reached.

    - Categorized RSS feeds. Ie: rss.php?c=5 only syndicates posts in category 5 or rss.php?c=5,6 syndicates categories 5 and 6 only.

    - Automatically send pings to given services when publishing an entry.

    - Automatically redirect to a given static page if the selected entry is not found (ie _404)

    - Possibility to ban words from comments, so if the entered one contains any word in the list, it gets automatically not published, or saved as pending moderation.

    - Last comments sidebar plugin.

    - Trackbacks and/or pingbacks support.

    - Calendar sidebar plugin, as an alternative to the archive.

    - Sitemap generation like in http://guti.bitacoras.com/sitemap.php.

    - Support for comments moderation.

    - Statistics page showing historical information like in http://guti.bitacoras.com/stats.php.

    - Rating functionality.

    - Blog level or theme level custom favicon.ico.

    BUGS
The installer does not allow to install over named LAN resources. Ie: http://dev/flatpress, so you need to change it during installation to http://192.168.0.3/flatpress.

    Hi Guti,

Users are activated by hand, just wait. If the mail fails to arrive in the next 24 hours or so, just contact me :); all the users I know of are enabled at the moment.

    > FEATURES

I know, but as long as it’s just a matter of copying a few lines…

    > * Fix the issues with converting static pages.

what issues are you referring to? files are all converted in the same way

    > * Change relative images links locations,
    > I mean replace “=images”/ with “=fp-content/images”.

That’s already done. If you used [html] with references to images than *that* won’t be changed of course; but you can write your very own search&replace plugin to do that on the fly when parsing (search and replace plugins are a very common way to approach many problems, you can read it often on the forum)

    > * Integrate import wizard in setup, if existing content from SPHPBlog is

But how can you tell if that’s SPB imported stuff or a reinstallation FP ? Entries might be mixed up

    > and so on, enabling DUMB_MODE.

The newer SVN version does not require dumb mode anymore, bad fields are just skipped

    > - Automatically publish posts with date in the future,

You can already backdate or foredate posts by way of a plugin; if you’re asking for scheduled posts… maybe “in the future” :)

    > - Categorized RSS feeds. Ie: rss.php?c=5 only syndicates posts
    > in category 5 or rss.php?c=5,6 syndicates categories 5 and 6 only.

use ./rss.php?cat=N ; multiple categories are not supported

    > - Automatically send pings to given services when publishing an entry.

    It will be implemented :)

    > - Automatically redirect to a given static page if the selected
    > entry is not found (ie _404)

This should be in SVN, IIRC

    > - Possibility to ban words from comments, so if the entered one contains

You’re asking for the quickspam plugin, just add words to the list

    > - Last comments sidebar plugin.

It’s already there :) you can see it on this site too

    > - Trackbacks and/or pingbacks support.

Not yet, but planned, expecially pingbacks; trackbacks can be vehicle of spam

    > - Calendar sidebar plugin, as an alternative to the archive.

    It’s there

    > - Sitemap generation like in http://guti.bitacoras.com/sitemap.php.

    Not yet :)

    > - Support for comments moderation.

Not yet because maintaining an index of comments (something you don’t have control of, as a SINGLE user) forces to deal with concurrency and race conditions (what if 2 users write at almost the same time? you must index both, so you have to handle WELL locks!); that’s the same reason for which I don’t have implemented multi users yet, I want it to be done *right* ;)

    > - Statistics page showing historical information like in
    > http://guti.bitacoras.com/stats.php.

hidden in SVN : ./admin.php?p=entry&action=stats I don’t know where to put it under yet, so it’s hidden at the moment; maintainance?

    > - Rating functionality.

You can do that with a plugin

    > - Blog level or theme level custom favicon.ico.

yes I know, because a web domain is usually expected to have a tld; it’s fixed in SVN, IIRC

    bye

    PS:

I think it could be done quite quickly, but from a semantic point of view this sitemap makes almost no sense IMO
