FlatPress 0.909 Arioso

With no further ado, FlatPress 0.909 is out with all of the improvements I had already listed in the last months.

2556176764_12059f5465.jpg

  • More reliable storage with drafts and entry saving (for your paranoid pleasure)
  • More configurable plugins (for your customizating obsession)
  • Full PHP5.3 compatibility (for your bleeding-edge joy) and still PHP4 (for your hosting suckyness)
  • Plus, comment editing (for your spam hate)
  • More awesomeness (for your need for awesomeness)

Upgrading advice is always the same.

Get it at the usual place

Have fun!

    Thank you.
    But there isn’t the new mootools widget js.
    I sent you an email, with my tutorial (in italian), but I don’t know if you have read that.
    For the tutorial (italian only at the moment): http://www.vdfn.altervista.org/blog/2009/08/23/aggiornare-il-mootools-di-flatpress/
    Remember: update mootools and slimbox, too!

    Hi,

    I tried my best, but all I got was a broken widget panel, and I didn’t have time to figure out how to fix it (I mean, upgrading to the new conventions).

    If you have some working and tested code to provide, I’ll be glad to bundle them with the next update ;)

    The comments editing is great, but comments approval beforehand would be nice.

    I’ve just updated flatpress to 0.909 version.
    I’ve read very carefully the instructions before i upgraded it.

    But there is a problem (at least for me) with index (?).
    I rebuild index with my blog but i got a lot of these msg:

    File does not exist:
    /var/www/vhosts/ebalaskas.gr/httpdocs/blog/2009

    and similar.

    I had taken a backup and rollback, i did a lot of tests again but everytime i had a lot of “file does not exist” entries on my error apache log.

    Hopefully others will not have similar problems.

    PS: keep up with this great blog engine. It’s awesome

    @ Evaggelos Balaskas

    Please use the forum for error reporting. Maybe you have a problem with file permissions: when you re-upload or move the old content check whether the files and directories have stil r/w permissions (0777), and if not reset them. There is an option in the maintainance panel: if that fails, then probably you have to do it manually through a client such as SmartFTP, which support recursive chmod

    bye

    @NoWhereMan

    There arent any problems with file perms, and sure i’ve tested it too. I’ll use the forum for further error reporting - i thought that users with similar problems could find my comment useful and backup up before doing anything else.

    PS: Thanks for you reply comment

    Feedback: went smooth as silk.

    Suggestion: in the fp-plugins/bbcode/plugin.bbcode.php file, could you change the line (in the do_bbcode_img function):

    $alt = $title = basename($actualpath);

    into

    if (isset($attributes[’alt’])) {
    $alt = $title = htmlspecialchars($attributes[’alt’]);
    }
    else {
    $alt = $title = basename($actualpath);
    }

    so that one can set a custom description for images, instead of just getting the filename?

    Look for details here:

    One of the features of v0.909 is “Plus, comment editing (for your spam hate) ” , how is this implemented ? Am starting to get some spam comments that I am having to delete manually.

    Thanks

    Steve
