I just published the first Release Candidate of the upcoming FlatPress 1.5 “Stringendo”.
It comes with a lot of improvements:
- Thanks to clever caching methods and some tweaks here and there, FlatPress is faster than ever - especially with huge numbers of entries and comments.
- With an updated Smarty template engine, FlatPress now supports PHP up to 8.5.
- Finally, FlatPress has a multi-file uploader, and the widget panel has been reworked.
- SEO of the PrettyURLs has been improved.
- Basque translation was added.
- We fixed quite a lot of bugs and possible security issues (thanks to all the reporters!).

- Download the full install package
- Download the update package 1.4 (or 1.4.1) to 1.5 RC1
(the 1.4.1 update instructions on the FlatPress wiki work for 1.5 as well)
Please help testing
If you happen to find the time, please help us testing this current version. Try a fresh installation, or update a testing copy of your existing blog.
We have prepared a Community Test plan which you may find helpful to work with (please let us know if not).
This is a release candidate. Although it’s very likely what will become the final release, you may not want to use it on your productive blog yet.
Please report any bugs and glitches in the GitHub issue tracker. If you’re not familiar with GitHub, feel free to use the FlatPress support forum instead.
