Looks like either the forum is under a heavy load or my (cheap, yes that’s why I ask to donate ;)) host is under heavy load, but I’ve found a bit difficult accessing the forum in the last few minutes.
Now, see why I like FlatPress? :D

then there might really be file “permissions” issues; create a fp-content/cache directory and give it 0777 (read+write+exec or at least read+write) permissions, and see what happens
you’d probably won’t be able to login though because you’ll lack a fp-content/users/ directory :/
